Abstract Naturally, the downstream of rain river experiences periodic floods and droughts. This process is beneficial for distribution dissolved nutrients minerals. Moving dams or barrages are generally built to minimize disasters. Even though they can control droughts, existence adds new problems ecosystem. The barrage limits natural flooding process, resulting in an imbalance harms ecosystems, impacting humans who depend on rivers water sources livelihoods. From these problems, proposed design concept a sustainable architectural dam through consideration form, facade, aesthetics balance ecosystem Sembayat Barrage Bengawan Solo River, Gresik Regency, Indonesia, as moving case. collaborates principles ecology biomimicry produce that friendly ecosystem, including humans. In making it happen, Ansys tools used detect potential wind movement, Fusion maximize structure with shape optimization. results obtained form redesign by maximizing while paying attention approach.
